The Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, stressed that there is no objection to implementing the partnership with the private sector in managing and operating parks, large livestock and public facilities in the southern region. He said in his response to the proposal of the Southern Municipal Council with the privatization of the livestock and large gardens in the governorate: “The proposal enhances the concept of community partnership with the private sector, improves the quality of the services provided, and the development of facilities, parks and walkways in proportion to the needs of society.”
The Undersecretary stressed the importance of implementing a general feasibility study to ensure a balance between private investment and public benefit, and the sustainability of projects and services to serve the interests of society in the long term. He explained that the executive body of the municipality of the southern region was assigned to study the opportunities available for the possibility of implementing the proposal in coordination with the municipal council.
