This came during the press conference held by the Information and Electronic Government Authority, today, Sunday, at its headquarters in Isa City, to announce the details of its strategic projects, which include the inauguration of the new ID card, the innovation laboratory and the self -service center. During the press conference, the CEO of the Authority expressed his pride in launching this package from strategic projects, which are implementing within the framework of the efforts and efforts of the authority to enhance digital transformation operations, and to use modern technologies to provide more efficient and easy services for citizens and residents. He stressed that the new and developed identity card represents a qualitative shift in providing government services, which were designed with the highest standards of safety and modern technology, and in a way that contributes to facilitating transactions and enhancing digital integration between different parties, noting that the launch of the innovation laboratory provides a experimental space to develop smart solutions, and encourage creative ideas that improve government services. He continued that the launch of the center comes with the aim of facilitating the access of citizens and residents to services and more effectively by providing a group of self -service devices in one place, enabling them to complete their government transactions easily and easily, pointing out that the self -service devices that the authority previously provided in a number of government agencies and postal centers have witnessed a great demand, as the total number of transactions completed through these devices in the year 2024 more than 193 thousand transactions, Adding that providing them through one center and around the clock will contribute to facilitating the access of individuals to the services provided by these devices. For his part, Mr. Ali Abdel Aziz Janahi, Executive Vice President of the electronic transformation of the Information and Electronic Government Authority, reviewed the advantages of the developed ID card, explaining that it was totally developed, in line with the latest international technologies and standards approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Janahi affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is the first Gulf country to activate the application of travel within the card segment, in coordination with nationality, passports and residence affairs, indicating that it includes security and advanced advantages that provide expanded capabilities for digital transactions, in addition to the card industry of (polycaronite) resistance to breakage, scratching, heat and environmental factors that are printed and by laser drilling, in a way that contributes In strengthening safety levels. He added that one of the requirements for issuing the developed card is to provide individuals with a personal photo and a white background to be issued to them, and that the image be modern (not exceeding 6 months). Mrs. Latifa Mohamed Al -Abbasi, Director of Innovation and Advanced Technologies at the Information and E -Government Authority, reviewed the details of the Innovation Hub, stressing that it was established from the standpoint of the government’s keenness to enhance the environment supporting innovation and digital transformation, and with the aim of motivating and enriching the culture of innovation in the government sector, noting that through it will be developed by preliminary models that can be implemented For government agencies to improve the quality of services, and to keep pace with modern trends. She explained during the press conference that the existing partnership with cloud computing services (AWS), according to which the work will be worked and through the laboratory on 8 preliminary models for a number of national initiatives affiliated with a number of government agencies, including the development of the national system for proposals and complaints (communication), the development of a system (records) of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the (Aman Against Al -Tanban) initiative of the Ministry of Education, using technology Artificial intelligence, indicating that cooperation with the AWS computing company will contribute to accelerating the adoption of innovation and artificial intelligence in the national sectors and will support the provision of an experimental environment for testing and developing solutions to this technology and other modern technologies, as well as enhancing capabilities and building national skills and enhancing regional and international cooperation to highlight the Kingdom as an advanced center in the field of adopting and investing in innovation and emerging technologies.
