After US President Donald Trump blew a surprise, during his speech, the Security of Congress at a previous time today, saying that he just received a message from his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zellinski, confirming his willingness to sit immediately at the peace negotiation table with Russia, the Ukrainian response came.
A spokesman for Zelinski, Sergey Nikiforov, confirmed that there is no “message” of this kind.
He also explained that Trump was specifically talking about the statement published by the Ukrainian President yesterday evening in a tweet on his account in X, according to local media.
A message from Kyiv?
The American president, who delivered one of the longest speeches of this kind in front of Congress, revealed that his Ukrainian counterpart informed him in a message of his willingness to sign the metal agreement at any time, and to return to the negotiating table with the Russian side.
He also pointed out that he expressed his gratitude for the aid provided by the United States, in statements similar to what Zelennski said yesterday on X.
However, Trump did not give any additional details about that message, but stressed that he also received a “strong signal” from Russia regarding its willingness to peace
This came, after Zellinski expressed on Tuesday evening in a tweet on X, his regret for what happened in the White House last week, in reference to the stormy meeting he gathered in Trump.
He also expressed his gratitude for everything America did to help his country, and what Trump also did to provide his country with weapons. Kiev’s willingness to achieve permanent peace, hours after the White House announced temporarily to stop military aid to Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that a violent and unprecedented verbal quarrel broke out last week in front of the world’s sight between the American and Ukrainian presidents, following weeks of tension and criticism between the two men, especially after Trump’s contact with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and the meeting held in Riyadh last month between two Russian and American delegations.
