Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center of the General Meteorological Authority, revealed the expected weather situation during the first days of Ramadan 2025, in addition to the most prominent weather phenomena that will be witnessed in the various governorates.
Meteorology warns of severe fluctuations in the ritual of the first day of Ramadan
Ghanem added during television statements that the atmosphere in the first days of Ramadan will be moderate during the day on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, North Upper Egypt and the northern coasts, while tending to warm in South Sinai and South Upper Egypt, and the atmosphere will remain very cold at night and in the early hours of the morning.
Manar Ghanem indicated that the temperatures will witness a gradual rise during the first week of Ramadan, as the maximum temperature is expected to reach 22 degrees Celsius, while it will rise to 23 and 24 degrees Celsius during the day and Tuesday, as a result of the country being affected by desert air masses and a high air extension in the upper layers of the atmosphere, which makes the weather moderate to warm day.
Ghanem emphasized that the atmosphere will remain cold at night, as the smaller temperatures will range between 12 and 13 degrees Celsius, while it may decrease in new cities and desert areas to 10 degrees, and in the governorates of North Upper Egypt may reach 9 degrees, which makes the night periods very cold, especially during the dawn hours.
Ghanem also warned of weather fluctuations from Wednesday to Friday, as the country will be affected by an air depression in the upper atmosphere, which leads to low temperatures and the fall of varying rains in most governorates of the north of the country, and may be thunderstorm in some areas.
The expectations indicated that the maximum temperatures on Greater Cairo will record 24 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, but will decrease to 20 or 17 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with the possibility of rain on the northern coasts, Lower Egypt and the cities of the channel, and may extend to Greater Cairo.
