Kafr El -Sheikh participates in the Earth Hour to extinguish the lights inside the institutions photo

Major General Alaa Abdel -Moati, Governor of Kafr El -Sheikh, said that the governorate participated in the global environmental event, the Earth Hour, by extinguishing lighting for an hour, starting from 8.30 to 9.30 pm today, Saturday, so the initiative aims to raise awareness of the danger of excessive energy consumption and its negative effects on the planet.

In a statement, the governor of Kafr El -Sheikh stressed that this event participates in most countries of the world, to extinguish the lights for 60 minutes, starting from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, last Saturday of March annually, to enhance community participation and educate citizens to confront the global warming phenomenon of the planet, and a strong message for future generations to preserve natural resources, and encourage rationalization of energy consumption and emissions to protect the environment.

The Governor of Kafr El -Sheikh called for the necessity of active participation of all parties and individuals of this civilized behavior, with the aim of spreading environmental awareness and providing money, albeit weak, as a result of rationalizing electricity, extinguishing lights and electrical appliances for an hour and lighting candles.

It is noteworthy that the Earth Hour is an annual global event organized by the Global Fund for Nature, and it is the largest popular movement that seeks to preserve the environment in the face of climate changes, during which individuals, societies, home owners and companies are encouraged to extinguish unnecessary lights and electronic devices for one hour in the last Saturday of March, and the Australian city of Sydney was the first cities that started this campaign in 2007, when its residents extinguished lights in House and public places.
