Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate announces the procedures for the circulation of dangerous medical waste for medical facilities

The Free Treatment Department at the Directorate of Health Affairs in Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate issued a statement during which it confirmed new instructions by the governor of Kafr El -Sheikh, aimed at preserving public health and community safety, as all medical facilities for the necessity of full commitment to the procedures for circulating dangerous medical waste were emphasized.

In the statement issued by the Health Affairs Directorate in the Directorate of Health in Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate, the Free Therapy added that these decisions come based on the laws of the environment and ministerial decisions regulating this matter, in order to face the potential risks that may result from the improper disposal of this waste.

The free treatment in Kafr El -Sheikh’s health emphasized that the most prominent of these decisions are the separation from the source, where private medical facilities must separate dangerous medical waste in the various medical departments within the facility, registration and transportation, complete adherence to weight, registration, transportation, proper delivery of waste, waste delivery to the treatment unit, and accurate follow -up to the process of delivering waste to the designated treatment unit, and ensuring that no dangerous waste leaks.

The Free Treatment Department continued, that whoever violates these decisions will be applied to the maximum legal penalties to violators, in accordance with the Law of Environment No. 4 of 1994 and Ministerial Resolution No. 573 of 2015, where a periodic follow -up of free treatment departments will be conducted to follow up the disposal of dangerous medical waste, and the Environmental Affairs Agency in Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate on all private facilities.

Dangerous medical waste is a major source of diseases and epidemics, and dealing with it requires the utmost caution and responsibility. These instructions aim to ensure the safety of workers in the medical sector, patients and society as a whole, and these procedures are part of the state’s comprehensive plan to maintain the health of its citizens.
