In the United Kingdom, the head of the Egyptian Space Agency reviews the launch of Egypt new satellites

Dr. Sherif Sidqi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, participated in the activities of the fortieth international conference of environmental sensor, which was launched in the United Kingdom with the participation of a group of experts and specialists from different countries of the world from the period from 17 to 19 March, and this conference is one of the most prominent global events in the field of remote sensing, as it brings together scientific and industrial leaders to discuss the latest developments in monitoring Earth and space applications for sustainable development.

The Egyptian Space Agency enhances its international presence at the fortieth environmental sensor conference

During his participation, Dr. Sherif Sidqi gave a major speech in which he reviewed Egypt’s leading experience in building and localizing space technology, highlighting the national efforts to enhance the use of space technologies in supporting sustainable development plans, managing natural resources, and facing environmental and climatic challenges.

He also touched on the recent achievements of the Egyptian Space Agency, including the launch of new satellites, and the pivotal role that Egypt plays at the regional and international levels, through its presidency of the Arab Group for Space Cooperation and its hosting of the headquarters of the African Space Agency.

The CEO participated in a specialized symposium entitled “Monitoring the Earth for Sustainable Development and Global Partnerships”, as he discussed with representatives of international space agencies and major research institutions the role of remote sensing technologies in achieving sustainable development goals, stressing the importance of international cooperation in developing innovative solutions to enhance resource management and respond to natural disasters.

Dr. Sharif Sidqi also spoke at another symposium that dealt with the emerging challenges in the space sector and the effects of rapid growth in the numbers of satellites on the space orbits environment, stressing the decisive role of international policies in ensuring sustainable use of outer space, as well as the importance of space data in supporting national economies and enhancing productivity in various vital sectors.

On the sidelines of the conference, the CEO held several bilateral meetings with representatives of international academic and industrial institutions, where the prospects for cooperation were discussed in the areas of satellite technology development, the localization of the satellite industry, and the benefit of space applications in the agricultural and environmental fields, and it was also agreed to hold follow -up meetings to enhance strategic partnerships in these areas.

At the end of his participation, Dr. Sherif Sidqi sent an invitation to the international scientific and vocational society to attend the “New Space Africa Conference 2025”, organized by the Egyptian Space Agency under the auspices of the Prime Minister, scheduled for next April, to be a platform to enhance international cooperation and support innovation in the field of space.
