Sports critic Mohamed Shabana, Menoufia Governorate, visited, as part of his electoral trips to the membership of the Syndicate of Journalists, where he met a number of journalists in the governorate, and made several important statements about issues related to the union and the profession.

Shabana responded to the question of Cairo 24, about what was raised during the last period regarding the period of renewal of the union’s front, which some described as shrouding the forefront, saying that this project is calculated for it and not, as it was implemented by a collective decision by the union council, and its actual cost amounted to 3.5 million pounds.
He explained that if the project was delayed until the present time, the cost would have reached 50 million pounds according to the current prices.
He pointed out that the start of work in the façade came due to the fall of parts of it, which coincided with the Korona pandemic, stressing that the union handed over an architectural masterpiece that has become a bride in the center of the country at the present time.
He stressed that he works in silence, and trusts in the awareness of the General Assembly to estimate the achievements that have been made.
Development of the Journalists Club
With regard to the file of the Journalists Club, Shabana responded to the criticisms directed at it, stressing that what has been achieved is a real achievement, as the club cost reached 50 million pounds, and a great effort was made to end all the procedures, starting from the ending licenses, through construction permits, and until the implementation of the entire project.
Confronting the adjective of journalists in the law
Commenting on the complaint of journalists in Menoufia about the spread of the adjective of journalists, Shabana stressed that this file is very sensitive, and it will be dealt with firmly with the assistance of the trade union committee in the governorate, where the prosecutors will be monitored and presented to the Attorney General.
He emphasized: I swear to God for their imprisonment, warning against prejudice to the profession or exploiting the name of the press in extortion or monument.
Electoral promises to support journalists
In the event that he won the membership of the Syndicate Council, Shabana promised to complete the journalists Club in Alexandria within two years, in addition to providing a headquarters for the trade union committee in Menoufia.
He also called on trade unionists in the governorate to participate in the Journalists Club in the Great Sea in installments, as the cost is only 1000 pounds.
As for the non -unionist journalists who wish to participate in the club, Shabana suggested that they provide them with honorary memberships.
