Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to support the creative student activities that contribute to developing youth awareness and enhancing the values of tolerance and belonging, noting that these competitions reflect the Ministry’s vision in enabling students to express their ideas and creativity through various artistic media.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research concluded the activities of the Qumaian competition for short films “together”, which it organized for Egyptian university students and institutes, with the participation of 205 short videos of students’ creations.
Competition results together for short films
The jury held its meeting at the headquarters of the Leadership Preparation Institute, headed by Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Media Adviser and Spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Secretariat of Dr. Karim Hammam, the Minister’s Adviser for Student Activities and the Director of the Institute.
The committee included a group of academics and specialists in the arts and media, including: Dr. Youssef Al -Malakh, Head of the Film Department of the International Academy of Engineering and Media Sciences, Dr. Ghada Jabara, President of the Academy of Arts and the Undersecretary of the Film Professions Syndicate, Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University previously and adviser to the President of Helwan University, and director Dr. Amr Abdin, President of the Nile Drama Channel and Dr. Mohamed Thabet Badari, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Assiut, the Undersecretary of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Egyptian -Russian University, and Professor Fatima Shaarawi, Editor -in -Chief of Al -Ahram newspaper and head of the Radio and Television Department.
For his part, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar explained that the competition witnessed a wide participation of students, which reflects their awareness and their keenness to provide purposeful media content that serves society, noting that the works presented showed the creative capabilities of students in producing short films that carry positive messages that enhance tolerance and belonging, stressing that the ministry continues to support such initiatives that contribute to the formation of societal awareness.
In the same context, Dr. Karim Hammam stressed that the extensive participation of Egyptian university students and institutes reflects the success of the Ministry’s vision in involving young people in the awareness industry, stressing that the actions submitted expressed the real visions of students towards the issues raised, and showed their ability to creativity and innovation in providing awareness messages that contribute to the fortification of society against extremist ideas, and enhance the values of citizenship and belonging.
The results of the competition resulted in the victory of the “addiction” video for students of the Egyptian -Russian University in the first place, the video “Tolerance of Religions” for students of Port Said University in second place, and the video of “false ideas” for students of Tanta University in third place. The jury also granted three promotional awards to each of the “Insight” video for Banha University students, a video as “spiritual” for Cairo University students, and a “refusing” video for students of October University for Modern Science and Literature.
It is noteworthy that the competition together was launched with the aim of producing short videos of no more than one minute, which contributes to spreading a culture of tolerance and coexistence, promoting social peace, strengthening the values of citizenship, consolidating the principles of moderation and moderation, and anti -extremism and takfiri thought, as part of the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education to build the normal personality of youth and fortify them against destructive ideas, and a celebration will be organized to honor students who won the competition.
