A spokesman for the company, Farrabort, explained that 1050 out of 1116 upcoming flights for or leaving Frankfurt Airport, Monday, was already canceled, and this number may rise.
The strike called by the Federation of Trade Unions, Verdi, will affect 13 airports throughout the country, including Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf airports.
The Syndicate Union demands an increase of wages by 8%, with a minimum of 350 euros (about 380 dollars) per month, in addition to increasing rewards and leave.
Entrepreneurs rejects the demands and say that their cost cannot be affected, and negotiations are scheduled to appeal later this month.
