Dr. Shawky Allam, the former Grand Mufti of the Egyptian Diyar, said that the scholars have set many rules that regulate the etiquette of the fatwa request, to ensure that the respondent obtains a correct and valid answer in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
The etiquette of requesting the fatwa

He also stressed that the mufti should investigate the specialized mufti who is known for the scientific efficiency, and that the fatwa is not required from those who are not eligible for that, based on the statement of Imam Muhammad bin Sirin: This science is a religion, so look at those who take your religion.
He added that one of the etiquette of the mufti is also to be honest and honest when presenting his issue, and not to hide details that may affect the legal ruling, warning against manipulating the fatwa to achieve personal goals, because the mufti answers based on what appears to him from the words of the mufti.
He also pointed out that the mufti has to take the left opinion on the issues in which a dispute occurred between the scholars, where the Almighty said: “God wants you to make the easiest and does not want the hardship to you.”
He stressed that commitment to these rules ensures that the fatwa is correct and disciplined, which enhances confidence in the legal rulings and contributes to achieving a correct understanding of religion.
