Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the dialogue session organized by the American Heitage Foundation Foundation, at its headquarters in Washington today, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America and the accompanying delegation to the minister.
During the session, the aspects of friendship and strategic partnerships linking the two friendly countries that extend to tens of years of bilateral cooperation in the economic, commercial, defense and development fields, and ways to upgrade them to the most comprehensive horizons for the service of common interests and goals.
The views of the developments of the situation in the Middle East, the conflicts in it and its repercussions on regional stability, international peace and security, and the regional and international efforts aimed at alleviating tension and escalation, enhancing the values of coexistence, tolerance, bringing peace, stability and prosperity in the region in the interest of all its peoples.
In his intervention, the Foreign Minister spoke about the Arab Summit held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in May 2024, and the resulting outputs and initiatives that reflected the Arab leaders’ keenness to bring peace, stability, development and joint cooperation for the benefit of all the peoples of the region, and to provide support and health and educational care to the people affected by conflicts in the region.
The Minister stressed the importance of the concerted efforts of the international community to end all conflicts in the Middle East region in order to preserve peace, security and international stability, and to avoid the peoples of the region from its repercussions, stressing that the Palestinian issue is the basis of conflict in the region, and it should be resolved as a fair and sustainable solution by establishing a full sovereign Palestinian state to live in security and peace with the State of Israel.
The Foreign Minister called for the necessity of ending the war in the Gaza Strip, committing to a ceasefire, expediting the release of hostages and detainees and delivering humanitarian aid without interruption, to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population.
