King Charles II, King of England, opened rooms at Windsor Castle for Muslims, to break the fast and celebrate the holy month of Ramadan for the first time in the country 1000 years.
More than 360 guests of all backgrounds met in St. George’s breakfast hall, during the holy month of Ramadan.
The first time in the history of British royal housing
According to the British newspaper Telegraph, this is the first time in the history of the 1,000 -year royal housing in which an open breakfast event is held in the hall famous for hosting banquets during state visits.
The newspaper stated: It is understood that the king, who promoted and celebrated the dialogue between religions and religious diversity throughout his working life, was supportive of the event by the Royal Collection Trust (RCT) and the Ramadan tent project (RTP).
Simon Maples, director of visitors at Windsor Castle, said the gathering was part of the RCT goal to ensure that everyone enjoyed reaching its palaces.
The royal headquarters in Berkshire welcomed the first time last year, but at the learning center instead of government apartments.
