The heavy rains that fell to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta and the neighboring towns, caused massive floods that affected more than 60,000 people and led to the closure of stores and factories.

The National Agency for Disaster Relief in Indonesia stated in a statement that about 1500 people were displaced as a result of these rains, which began since yesterday, noting that evacuations into tents in the affected areas are still ongoing.

The agency also reported that the water flooded a large commercial center in Picassi, one of the most densely populated cities in Indonesia, which led to many factories stopping work. The Indonesian Meteorological Agency expected the heavy rains in the country until March 11, warning of the possibility of floods in several areas
