Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received Hilda Clemetzel, Norway Ambassador to Cairo, and Terji Biljoj, CEO of Satak Norwegian company and the accompanying delegation, where ways to enhance cooperation between the oil sector and the Norwegian company in the field of green energy were discussed in light of the joint project that is currently being implemented for the production of green ammonia in Damietta Governorate.
During the meeting, Badawi praised the existing cooperation and partnership with the Norwegian side, which possesses advanced technologies that contribute to the implementation of important strategic projects, noting that the oil sector companies have experiences and capabilities, which qualifies them to implement giant projects efficiently and at international levels.
For its part, the Norwegian Ambassador affirmed that her country appreciates partnership with Egypt, especially in light of the great support from the political leadership of the two countries and the strong Egyptian desire to implement large projects and achieve more success stories.
Egypt has possibilities to become a major supplier for hydrogen
While the President of Skatak Company reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the green ammonia production project of green hydrogen in Damietta Governorate, indicating that Egypt has the capabilities and geographical location, which qualifies it to become a major supplier of green hydrogen and green ammonia for Europe.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Ibrahim Makki, President of the Egyptian Holding Company for Petrochemicals, and Engineer Ahmed Mahmoud, President of Mobco and Mohamed Amer, Vice President of Skatak for the Middle East and North Africa.
