The Information and E -Government Authority enhances the ease of the public access to the electronic identity card services by providing it through the application of my government
The Kingdom of Bahrain- Manama: With the aim of enhancing the ease of access to citizens and residents to the services of the identity card and ensuring the completion of their transactions with ease and ease, the Information and Electronic Government Authority announced the provision of a package of electronic identity card services through the “MyGov” application in its first phase, which was recently launched by the first team, His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communications.
For her part, Mrs. Duaa Sultan Mohamed, Executive Vice President of Statistics and Population Registry of the Information and Electronic Government Authority, affirmed that the provision of these services, which are the most used by citizens and residents, is a strategic step aimed at promoting digital transformation and facilitating access to government services for citizens and residents through a unified digital platform in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
She explained that the identity services that were provided via the government application (MyGov) in the first stage include issuing and renewing the identity card services and issuing a lost card, and inquiries services about the status of the identity card requests, knowing that the average number of these transactions completed in the presence and through the national portal that is accomplished annually more than 700 thousand transactions, and its provision for the first time through a unified electronic application that contributes to the ease of arrival Customers for these services and the speed of their completion. The services available in the application also include displaying birth certificate and identity card for the head of the family and for children under the age of 18, along with the identity card for domestic workers
The Executive Vice President of Statistics and Population Registry indicated that the authority will continue its efforts by adding other services in the application of my government (MyGov) in the coming stages and in order to upgrade the identity card system and develop it in a desire to facilitate its customers and ensure that they reach these services that provide them, and in line with the best international standards and practices in the field of customer service and improving the user experience, renewing its emphasis on the importance of the application of my government (Mygov) and the services it provides.
It is worth noting that the “MyGov” application is one of the innovative digital projects that provides citizens and residents the unified entry experience for a group of government services, and in a safe way by linking it to the electronic key developed (EKEY 2.0) that provides the feature of biometric authentication through the face fingerprint, in a way that enhances the level Government, and also provides a set of advantages and services, including displaying government certificates and documents such as identity, passport, birth certificates, government notifications service and others.
It is also worth noting that users of citizens and residents can download the government of the Mygov App through their visit to the electronic government applications store Bahrain.bh/aps, and to provide their inquiries or obtain more information via direct contact with the government services communication center 80008001 or submit their proposals, inquiries and observations through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints (Communication) or the application of communication.
