In the context of the efforts of the Coast Guard in implementing the law and addressing the violations related to the fishing and the tools used in it, the marine patrols managed to arrest 4 sailors with Asian nationality and seize their boat after trying to escape while practicing hunting shrimp prohibited in this period of the year under the ministerial decision issued in this regard.
The Coast Guard Command indicated that the aforementioned boat was monitored in the maritime area near the King Fahd Bridge, and during the request of the patrols, they stopped control and inspection, they tried to collide with the marine patrols and escape, as the patrols managed to stop them and arrest them and in possession of the righteous preposition that is forbidden to use.
The Coast Guard Command indicated that the violating nets were seized, and legal measures were taken in preparation for referring the case to the Public Prosecution.
The Coast Guard Command called on all sea visitors the need to adhere to the instructions of marine patrols when requesting to stop control and inspection, adhere to the decisions regarding the prohibition of fishing and the illegal tools used, and to follow the procedures related to limiting overfishing, illegal fishing and unorganized fishing, in order to protect fish and sea wealth and maintain the natural reserves of the public interest.
