I have a habit for years ago, which is to contact my family after leaving the office in diplomacy minutes, specifically when I stop at the Sheraton Hotel signal against the financial port towers, to tell them that I am on the way home and to give them a sufficient period to prepare the lunch table, and I was keen to show them that the expected period to reach the home is half an hour as a maximum, God willing.
But for a whole week, I could not, and for Cairo circumstances, to fulfill my old promise to reach within half an hour, but rather the period of diplomacy to my home in the southern region – overnight – became twice that time twice! I do not know what happened during this week, but what I and others have witnessed.
Daily traffic congestion since the afternoon. King Faisal Street closed and extended to the Saif suburb and continued throughout the Sheikh Khalifa (Al -Hayi) Street and led to a severe disruption in the movement from the capital to southern Bahrain. I was hoping that the situation was better on the other side of Manama and after leaving Al -Fateh Street in the direction of a jacket or the city of Isa, but unfortunately the situation was not, but sometimes worse. One day I felt that I was imprisoned in Manama; Because all exits were suffering crowds and semi -closed.
In order to explain this new traffic congestion, people chanted many accounts. Some blamed the recently opened circular road and connects Diyar al -Muharraq to the two dresses, and then King Faisal Street, claiming that the flow of cars from the northern regions in Muharraq was a reason for the crowd of Manama. Others talked about an intense presence of the Gulf siblings in Bahrain, and there are those who indicated the increase in the number of cars in general.
Whatever the reasons, I hope that the severe traffic congestion that we have seen is a temporary situation and ends quickly because it is difficult for the journey to turn from and from Manama – which embraces the workplaces of the work of most people – into a tiring, physically and psychologically exhausting process. The issue means disrupting various works and the lives of people. It is not reasonable for paralysis to continue to walk in this way, which causes a waste of time and effort and affects the productivity of the individual and institutions, and will inevitably lead to material losses incurred by all economic sectors.
The truth is that there is a great diligence from government agencies in the construction of new roads and bridges and the expansion of old streets such as Al -Fateh Street recently, but what happened a few days ago indicates that we need more bridges and double expansions that include almost all large streets and the most important streets of the capital, Manama, it is the heart of Bahrain and a destination for all.
