Barcelona is facing a legal crisis that may lead to the loss of its player Danny Olmo until the end of the season, due to the complaint filed by the Spanish Federation and the League against its registration in the team’s list.
According to the Spanish Federation regulations, no player can register twice with the same team during one season, which prompted the La Liga Association to submit an official appeal to the Supreme Council of Sports, to review the decision to register Olmo and his colleague Pau Victor.
In previous statements, the head of the Supreme Council of Sports indicated that Olmo’s registration came to protect one of the columns of the Spanish team and avoid possible economic losses for the Catalan club.
However, the final decision on the case will be announced on April 7, either by supporting the resumption of La Liga or keeping the player’s registration.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, the Barcelona administration headed by Juan Laporta is preparing all possible scenarios, and if Olmo registration is canceled, the club will have to resort to the civil judiciary as a last option.
Barcelona faces the risk of losing Danny Olmo services until the end of next season if a ruling against him is issued, which will also prevent him from participating with the Spanish national team in the European Nations League next June.
