The Islamic Bank of Bahrain announced (BISB)The pioneering bank in providing innovative and simplified Islamic digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, for its cooperation with Ibn Khaldoun National School to support the national campaign “forgotten wealth”, which aims to raise awareness of the dangers of electronic waste.
This initiative comes within the framework of the UNESCO International Campaign aimed at educating the employees of Ibn Khaldoun National School and members of society as a whole on the environmental risks caused by electronic waste, and enhancing sustainable recycling practices throughout the Kingdom. Bahrain Islamic Bank’s firm support for this trend comes to emphasize its commitment to the principles of environmental and social governance and corporate governance and achieve the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
This partnership was activated during a visit by a delegation from Ibn Khaldun National School recently to the headquarters of the Bahrain Islamic Bank, consisting of a number of faculty members of the school along with representatives of students. Through these joint efforts, a series of awareness and interactive activities will be implemented for the bank’s and public employees, among them that students organize field campaigns to collect electronic waste with the participation of employees of the bank, and the school also intends to establish Motivational activities in various parts of the Kingdom, which includes organizing field campaigns to collect electronic waste, as well as other community activities such as festivals and sports activities
On this occasion, Mr. Amir Derry, CEO of Financial and Strategic Affairs at the Islamic Bank of Bahrain, stated: “We are pleased to be part of this campaign alongside the students of Ibn Khaldun National School. We at the Islamic Bank of Bahrain are committed to consolidating the principles of sustainability, environmental and social governance and corporate governance in line with the goals of the sustainable development of the United Nations and the future vision of Bahrain. Through this partnership, we seek to increase Awareness about the dangers of electronic waste, the empowerment of youth, and the motivation of community work.
