Every person has a name that people call for, and this name has nothing to do with his qualities, but rather he is chosen from his parents at his birth, except that in many cases a person is called a title, derives from his attributes, whether commendable or uncomfortable, and the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, followed an educational approach to building the personality of the Companions, may God be pleased with them, where he was granted the Companions, may God be pleased with them. This companion makes him cherish and preserve it, as this title contributes to building a man’s personality and leaves an impact on the culture of society, and also gives a clear indication that this characteristic is commendable and must be demonstrated and proud. The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, gave many companions different titles, including:
The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, called his boyfriend Abu Bakr with “Al -Siddiq” because he believed him in all his sayings, and Omar bin Al -Khattab called “Al -Faruq” because he differentiated between truth and falsehood, and Khaled bin Al -Walid called “the sword of God who is the one” because he knew the path of victory in the battles, and the title of Abu Ubaidah ibn al -Jarrah as the “Secretary of the Nation” for his honesty. Indeed, there are dozens of companions whom the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, granted titles extending from their benign attributes, and from them we read that these titles are a reference to the most important good characteristic enjoyed by the companion. It can be used and enhanced.
Those titles are the keys to build souls and make men. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to give titles on his companions, not only for nomination or technology, but as an educational method that enhances values and directs energies. The companion gave the appropriate title and derived from his attributes the best way to refine the personalities of the Companions, strengthen their strengths, and notify them of responsibility. These titles have made heroes who carried Islam and spread it on the horizons.
So let us draw this approach in education. Instead of using hurtful criticism or negative titles, we can give our children and students to motivate them that encourage them to distinguish, just as the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, did with his companions, yes .. the words make the difference, and the titles may be a source of strength or frustration. Therefore, the inspiration of the prophetic approach to the use of educational titles can be an effective way to build individuals and societies. Let us make sure to select our words, as it may become a legacy in the life of those we direct to them, just as the titles of the Companions have become part of their great history … and you are safe.
