Foreign Minister Dr. Abdel -Latif Al -Zayani participated in the joint ministerial meetings between the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and both the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Kingdom of Morocco, which was held yesterday in Makkah Al -Mukarramah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The side of the Cooperation Council chaired the president of the current session of the Ministerial Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the sisterly State of Kuwait, Abdullah Al -Yahya, while the side of the Arab Republic of Egypt was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad Al -Shaibani, and the Kingdom of Morocco, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans abroad, Nasser Burita. The Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council, Jassem Al -Badawi, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the aspects of the strong brotherly relations that link the countries of the Cooperation Council and the sisterly Arab countries were discussed, and it studied ways to enhance joint cooperation in various political, economic and development fields.
The meeting with Egypt stressed the importance of continuing coordination and joint cooperation in order to support the International Conference for the Reconstruction of Gaza, which will be hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt soon, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of common concern. He assigned the General Secretariat, in coordination with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, to enhance joint cooperation in all areas agreed in the joint action plan, which includes many vital areas in order to lead to more cooperation and integration. It was also agreed between the two sides to hold the Egyptian Gulf Investment Forum in the second half of this year.
The ministers discussed the Gulf movement plan for Syria, as the Ministerial Council affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council states stand with the Syrian leadership and support their efforts to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for development, reconstruction and prosperity. He assigned the General Secretariat to coordinate between member states, the Syrian Arab Republic, active countries and international organizations related to the Syrian issue to prepare for the international conference on Syria, to ensure the mobilization of the resources necessary for re -stability, recovery and reconstruction.
The meeting also discussed the path of close historical brotherly relations that link the countries of the Cooperation Council and the Kingdom of Morocco within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between the two sides and review the evaluation of the workflow in implementing this partnership, and assigned the General Secretariat in coordination with the Kingdom of Morocco to hold technical work teams in implementation of the joint work plan to enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides in all fields
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Ali bin Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Talal Al -Ansari, the Head of the Legal Affairs Sector, Acting Head of the Cooperation Council Affairs Sector, Muhammad Al -Haidan, and the accompanying delegation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
