The head of the Public Security, Chairman of the National Committee for the Civil Emergency Management, stated, in a statement on the occasion of the Arab Day to reduce disaster risk, which corresponds to the twenty -first of March of each year, and comes under the slogan “steadfast and flexible Arab society in light of disasters” that national efforts focus on updating the national strategy for disaster risk management, including dealing with climate changes and cyber threats, as well as developing detailed plans to confront emergency emergency Civil, clearly determines roles and responsibilities to ensure an effective response.
In the context of strengthening readiness, General Tariq bin Hassan Al -Hassan stressed the importance of strengthening early warning systems, by expanding their scope and using modern technologies to ensure alerts reach all groups of society by multiple means, including smart devices and various media, pointing at the same time to the importance of building disaster risk management strategies on a basis of community partnership, and launching comprehensive community awareness programs, including media campaigns and inclusion of management concepts The risks in the curricula, as well as organizing workshops and training courses targeting governmental and private agencies and civil society.
He added that Bahrain continues to invest in enhancing biomass infrastructure, by implementing projects that guarantee the sustainability of basic services, developing the standards of resistance to disaster resistance, in addition to continuing to manage and develop the national civil protection platform to provide updated data on risks and facilitate the exchange of information between the relevant authorities.
The Head of Public Security, Chairman of the National Committee for Civil Emergency Management, stressed that Bahrain is keen to implement periodic exercises and exercises, to raise the level of readiness and respond to disasters, in addition to enhancing regional and international cooperation through participation in global forums, and signing cooperation agreements with countries and organizations concerned to enhance national capabilities in this field.
