Al -Asiri: A campaign to attract entrepreneurs to invest in the space sector at the end of 2025

The Kingdom of Bahrain “Al -Mundhir” launched yesterday morning the first Bahraini satellite, from the Vandenberg base in California, to form an advanced step in the Bahraini space sector, which relies the moon on artificial intelligence techniques for analyzing captured images and preparing an environmental database that supports future research. For his part, the CEO of the National Authority for Space Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al -Asiri, on the launch of the campaign at the end of this year, aims to attract entrepreneurs and those with enlightened ideas for investment in the space sector. He explained that some components of “Al -Mundhir” were manufactured in partnership with the private sector, which reflects the increasing ability of the local industry in the space field.

Al -Asiri added that the current trend is not limited to the purchase of technologies, but also includes their development locally and promoting national skills, to become Bahrain as a key player in the field of space at the regional and international level. He said that this project is an important step in the authority’s march to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, so that the Kingdom of Bahrain takes a pioneering position in the space sector, and in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister, this project has received follow -up and continuous supervision by His Highness the team, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary -General of the Supreme Defense Council, throughout his implementation.

For his part, the advisor of the National Agency for Space Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al -Othman, during a special program presented on Bahrain TV on this occasion, about great developments in the authority in the areas of communications, artificial intelligence, and cyber security, stressing that Bahrain is working to enhance its capabilities in taking satellite images and analyzing data, as well as contributing to major space programs such as Artemis.

Al -Othman added that Bahrain is working to launch new space projects in cooperation with the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and Egypt, where countries seek to develop more complex systems, larger satellites, and even spacecraft landing on the moon.
