Ibrahim Hassan, the first director of the Egyptian football team, announced that Al -Ahly club was notified by the Egyptian Football Association of the date of joining the players of the first football team in Al -Ahly Club to the national team in the official days of the international stopping period and not before that.
Ibrahim Hassan told Cairo 24: “Al -Ahly has already informed us that the players chosen for the national team will join the current camp in preparation for the matches of Ethiopia and Sierra Leone in the fifth and sixth round matches of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, on the days of the international stop.
Therefore, the Egyptian national team players will join Monday, March 17th, and they did not join at the beginning of the camp yesterday, which was launched in the presence of Zamalek players and professionals in the Qatari league, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Hamdi Fathi.
The Egyptian team chose Mohamed El -Shennawi, Mustafa Schubert, Rami Rabia, Marwan Attia, Mohamed Hani and Ahmed Koka from Al -Ahly Club.
Egypt is preparing to confront Ethiopia on March 21 and then confront Sierra Leone on March 25.
