“Our meeting today with the majesty of the great king is a historical station that reflects the extent of the wise leadership’s interest in preserving the Bahraini traditional industries, and its role in promoting the national identity. We had the honor to present a group of swords and daggers inspired by the designs of ancient Zubarah, which express the originality of this craft that has originated hundreds of years ago, and continued thanks to the efforts of Bahraini grandparents and craftsmen. ”
He added: “His Majesty praised the great king on this ancient legacy, stressing that these swords represent a great historical and civilizational value, and that preserving them is a national duty to ensure its continuation as part of the rich Kingdom’s heritage.
For us, these words constitute a great incentive to continue working to develop this industry, and keep pace with the times without neglecting the authentic values that distinguish it. ”
Ahmed Al -Sayegh explained that the Bahraini swords are not just tools or artifacts, but rather carrying great symbolism, as throughout the ages they were a symbol of strength, justice and sovereignty. He pointed out that Bahrain has nine types of traditional swords, out of twelve Gulf species, and six types of daggers out of nine, which reflects the Bahraini leadership in this industry.
It also touched on “the high technical value of Bahraini swords, where the arrival of a complex mixture of eight types of metal, to ensure hardness and flexibility, is also manufactured, and some swords are decorated with precise plant patterns and Quranic verses, which makes them invaluable artifacts.”
Al -Sayegh concluded his statement by saying: “We are proud of the trust of His Majesty the King, and we are committed to preserving this precious heritage, and transferring it to future generations of the same quality and originality. The Dibaj Swords and Daggers will remain a leader in this field, as a contribution to enhancing Bahrain’s position as a beacon for traditional crafts and heritage industries. ”
