Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Major General Mohamed Zamlout, Governor of the New Valley, and a delegation of Chinese businessmen, the Egyptian Chinese Businessmen Foundation, met ways to enhance agricultural investment in Egypt.
Agriculture discusses with China’s businessmen to establish a project to produce seeds in the new valley
The meeting discussed the establishment of a project for agricultural investment in the New Valley Governorate, through the China Reel Way, one of the major Chinese companies, so that the production of important agricultural crops is expanded, including: potatoes, wheat, and soybeans.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized the strength of the relations between Egypt and China, and projects of joint cooperation between the two sides, in many fields, including the agricultural sector, pointing to the efforts made by the Egyptian state to improve the investment climate, encourage investors and involve the private sector in development work.
Farouk pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture will provide all means of technical support to the Chinese side, through experts and researchers of the Agricultural Research Center, and work to overcome all obstacles to the success of this cooperation, so that the project scheduled to be held in the New Valley Governorate is a intention of major investment projects implemented by the Chinese businessmen alliance in Egypt.
For his part, Major General Mohamed Zamalout, Governor of the New Valley, stressed that the governorate provides all means of support and facilitation to investors, considering that the governorate is one of the promising Egyptian governorates with investment, and has many ingredients that qualify it for that, pointing out that continuous coordination and follow -up will be to overcome obstacles and start actual work in the project.
It was agreed that a joint cooperation note be prepared between the Ministry of Agriculture and the New Valley Governorate and the Chinese company, which includes all areas of cooperation and the mechanisms of implementing the project.
