According to a report published by the newspaper “Globo Esporte”, the Brazilian Football Association has settled on the need to make an urgent change in the leadership of the national team, due to a significant decline in performance in the qualifiers and a defect in harmony between the administration and the technical staff, the defeat against Argentina, increased pressure on coach Dorrefal Junior, prompting the Brazilian Federation to think about an alternative to it.
Names nominated to succeed Dorieval Junior
The newspaper confirmed that there are several prominent names that are nominated to take over the training of the Brazilian national team in the coming period, and at the head of those names, the Portuguese coach, Georgy Jesus, the coach of the Saudi Crescent.
Jesus presented great results with Al -Hilal, where he crowned the Saudi Professional League championship last season without a loss, in addition to winning the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Super Saudi Cups on two occasions.
Despite the successes of Jesus with Al -Hilal, the current season witnessed a fluctuation in the team’s results, which affected his popularity between the fans of the club, and his contract with Al -Hilal ends in May 2024, and no agreement has been reached on renewal yet, which opens the way for his transfer to training the Brazilian team.
Jesus responded about Brazil’s training
Jesus had previously stated on previous occasions that the Brazilian national team training is a “dream” for him, and he confirmed that he felt that he missed the opportunity when he was a candidate to take responsibility two years ago.
The Portuguese coach has a good record in Brazil, where he led Flamingo in the 2019-2020 season to many championships, making him one of the favorite options.

Besides Georgy Jesus, the list includes other prominent names, including the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, the current Real Madrid coach, who may leave the royal club in the coming period, in addition to Felipe Lewis, former Brazil defender and the current coach of Flamingo, as well as Reno Gatucho who has left Gremio’s training, and finally Portuguese Abel Ferrera, who has led Palmes to several important titles in recent years.
