Rodrigo Lasmar, the Brazilian national team doctor, revealed the details of goalkeeper Alison Baker, who was exposed to Colombia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which ended with the victory of the “Seleção” 2-1.
Lasmar explained, in statements reported by the CNN network, that Alison was subjected to a strong header, which necessitated his replacement during the match, due to the suspicion of his concussion.
The doctor confirmed that the player will undergo accurate medical examinations, including CT scans and magnetic resonance imaging, in addition to a cognitive test to assess the extent of his nervous functions.
He added that the condition of the guard is not dangerous, as he did not lose consciousness or memory, but he was slowly felt in the movement, which prompted the medical staff to take a precautionary decision to get him out of the field.
The Brazilian team continues its strong results in the qualifiers, as it raised a balance to 21 points to occupy the second place, while the balance of Colombia was frozen at 19 points in sixth place, which increases the competition for the reservation of the qualification card for the World Cup 2026.
