Statistics: 48.6% of the people of Egypt are female
According to the estimates of the population on 1/1/2025 (initial data), the number of Egyptian population inside (107.3 million people) reached, as females represented 52.2 million by 48.6%, and the type was 106% (that is, there are 106 males per 100 females).
According to the annual bulletin data for registered students and faculty members for higher education (2023/2024), the percentage of females registered in higher education reached 49.6% compared to 50.4% for males. According to the annual pre -university education newsletters (2023/2024).
The percentage of the total restriction of females (which is 7 is the percentage of females restricted to females in the same age category) in various educational levels as follows:
23.6% pre -primary education stage. 104.5% primary stage (includes a total of primary school registered as well as those who failed and affiliated with homes). 106.1% Preparatory stage.
The dropout rate in the years (2021/2022 – 2022/2023) in the primary stage was 0.2% for females compared to 0.3% for males for the academic year, while 0.7% for females in the preparatory stage compared to 0.6% for males in the same year.
According to the data of the marriage and divorce bulletin in 2023, the number of marriage contracts increased in 2023, when it reached 961220 contracts, compared to 2022, when 929428 contracts were.
The number of divorce cases decreased to 26,5606 cases in 2023 compared to 2022, when 269,834 divorce cases were.

Women’s contribution to the labor force reached 16.9% of the total workforce (15 years or more) compared to 70.3% for males, the unemployment rate for females reached 17.1% compared to 4.2% for males, the operating rate of working females (15 years or more) was 14.0% compared to 67.4%. For males. The percentage of females who do permanent work reached 83.8% of the total employees, compared to 61.4% for males.
The percentage of women who work in the profession of specialists and scientific professions reached 29.3%of the total workers, while the lists of written works represented 8.1%, while the percentage of those working in technical jobs and specialists of the specialists 10.8%, workers in agriculture and fishing 18.5%, while the percentage of workers in services and sales stores was 18.7%, and the lowest percentage of workers in craft professions and those to them 2.0%.
Women in decision -making sites in the year (2023/2024):
Women obtained 4 ministerial portfolios inside the Council of Ministers, with 16% of the ministers in the government.
Women represented 20% of the position of Deputy Minister in the new government for the year 2024. The woman participated with 33.3% in the position of deputy governor, in the last renewal of the governors in 2024.
