Ukrainian President Floudimir Zellinski stressed on Wednesday that he cannot be “replaced” in response to US President Donald Trump’s invitation to hold elections in Ukraine.
Zelinski said at a press conference in Kiev.
He added that President Trump lives in the Russian “space of misinformation”, given his recent statements.
Trump had announced that the talks with Moscow were “very good”, holding the Ukrainian president responsible for the outbreak of the war with Russia in February 2022.
On Tuesday, Trump considered that Ukraine “bears the responsibility of the comprehensive Russian invasion”, which occurred about three years ago. Trump also indicated the necessity of holding elections in Ukraine, a demand that Russia also demanded.
He said: “This is not only Russia. This is something I demanded by many other countries as well.”
For his part, Zelinski said that “we must never forget that Russia is run by them with sick lie and cannot be trusted and pressure should be exerted.”
Zelinski wants to “end” the war with Russia in 2025
Zelinski confirmed on Wednesday his desire to obtain “security guarantees” by his Western allies that allow “an end” of the war with Russia this year.
