The President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received, on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is visiting the country, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint work between the two countries in various fields to serve mutual interests.
Developments in the Middle East and the Palestinian issue
The meeting discussed the most prominent regional and international issues, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East, especially developments in the Palestinian territories. The efforts made to resolve the crisis in the Gaza Strip and its implications for security and regional peace were discussed.
The UAE’s fixed position on the Palestinian issue
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed stressed the UAE’s rejection of any attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of linking the reconstruction of Gaza to a path that leads to a comprehensive and permanent peace based on a “two -state solution”, as it is the only way to achieve stability in the region.
The need to avoid expanding the conflict
The President of the Emirates stressed the need to work to prevent the escalation of the situation in the region, as it may pose a threat to regional peace.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior Emirati officials, including Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in addition to other officials and the UAE ambassador to the United States, Youssef Al -Otaiba.
