The student, Fatima Farid Al -Shaer, designed a automatic irrigation device for plants and measuring the percentage of soil moisture, after she benefited from enrolling in the specialization of creative technology at Al Hara Secondary School for Girls, which falls within the technical and vocational education system applied by the Ministry of Education in secondary schools.
Fatima explained that her device works to measure the percentage of soil moisture through a special sensor connected to an “Erdino” electronic development board with an electric generator, in addition to carrying out the crops periodically organized.
She pointed to the application of her project to agricultural seedlings in the school, where the result was good by rationalizing water consumption in agriculture, and providing the time and effort exerted in it, in a way that contributes to protecting the environment and achieving the sustainable development goals.
The support of the science teacher, Professor Amal Abdul Ali, and an educational technology specialist, Mr. Alia Youssef, who contributed to the implementation of her idea.
