The management of the Alexandria Film Festival revealed the official poster of the eleventh version scheduled to start from April 27 to May 2, 2025.
The Alexandria Festival for the short film, designed by the Alexandrian artist Abdel Rahman Ahmed, reflects the coastal identity of the city, where cinema interferes with the sea in a form that expresses that it is not only a place for the festival, but an inspiration for filmmakers.
The castle and boats in the festival poster symbolize the ancient Alexandrian heritage, and in the depths the cinema is embodied in old photography methods, indicating that creativity flows from the past to the present.
The poster also holds a message of solidarity through the existence of the Palestine flag next to the Egyptian flag, which reflects the strong and rooted relationship between the two peoples, based on historical solidarity and continuous support for the Palestinian cause.
Director Mohamed Mahmoud, president of the festival, said in a statement a short time ago that in every session, the Alexandria International Film Festival confirms its commitment to supporting cinematic creativity and presenting a real platform for filmmakers.
He pointed out that at the eleventh session, the festival continues to consolidate its position as a bridge between cultures, as the coastal spirit of Alexandria is mixed with the magic of cinema, to give us a unique artistic experience that reflects the identity of the city and its ancient heritage.

In his speech, the head of the festival explained that the poster this year carries a message that goes beyond art, to embody human solidarity, where the Egyptian flag meets with the flag of Palestine, in confirmation of cinemas in expressing fair issues, and consolidating the common values that bring together peoples, saying: We welcome all the participants and the public, and we look forward To an extraordinary course full of creativity and influence.
Director Mohamed Saadoun, director of the festival, said that at the eleventh session, the Alexandria International Film Festival continues its journey to celebrate cinematic creativity, from the heart of a city that inspired generations of filmmakers. The poster embodies our Alexandrian identity, where the sea meets the cinema in a form that reflects the depth of creativity rooted in the city.
He pointed out that this session is not only a celebration of art, but an affirmation of the cinemas in transferring humanitarian issues, so the poster came carrying a message of solidarity with Palestine, confirming that the cinema is not just a picture but a situation.
Director and producer Money Mahmoud, the artistic director of the festival, revealed that at the eleventh session, the Alexandria International Film Festival continues to attract the interest of filmmakers from all over the world, where we received more than 2000 films from different continents, which reflects the festival’s position as a global platform that celebrates creativity Film.

The Alexandria Film Festival management announced the qualification of the films winning the Hibatia Golden Award for Academy Awards, starting from the next version, by the Academy of Arts and Photo Sciences responsible for the distribution of the Academy Awards.
