Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of Customs, participated in the regional meeting of customs general managers of the North Africa region and the Middle East and the lowest, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The meeting discussed ways of coordination and cooperation between the countries of the region and the World Customs Organization, and to see the customs developments on the regional scene. In addition to the work of the Policy Committee emanating from the World Customs Organization, and the recommendations issued by the committee to member states, the feasibility of appointing an technical supplement to the member states of the World Customs Organization and the impact of this has been discussed.
During the meeting, the representative of the World Customs Organization presented a summary of the strategic plan 2025-2028 to the organization, where its vision and goals were discussed, and reports of customs operations and information exchange for the Middle and low countries and North Africa countries were presented, and the results of these joint operations, in addition to reviewing the regional office report to build The ability and the results of his work for the past year.
The Head of Customs expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made to prepare for this meeting, and the efforts of member states in effective and wealthy participation, in the context of supporting international customs work through developing international standards, enhancing cooperation and capacity building to facilitate legitimate trade.
