The Egyptian Drug Authority emphasized that the treatment of pain in cancer patients depends on a group of medications that are used in accordance with the health condition of each patient, noting the need to adhere to the doses specified by doctors to ensure the effectiveness of treatment and reduce any possible side effects.

The authority explained that the drugs used include: non -descriptive drugs such as paracetamol, which are used to treat simple to the average pain, with the need to consult a doctor or pharmacist to control doses, analgesics and non -steroidal anti -inflammatory drugs, which need a prescription and is used under careful medical supervision.
She continued, that the drugs listed in narcotic jewels, which are used to treat medium pain, are not spent only with a prescription according to the legal controls regulating the disbursement of these drugs.
The authority indicated that the treatment plan may include a mixture of previous drugs, in addition to other drugs such as antidepressants or cortisone, to help control pain and reduce high doses of analgesics, which contributes to reducing possible side effects.
In this context, the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority stressed the need to report any side effects that may result from the use of these drugs through the pharmaceutical vigilance center, which assesses cases and takes the necessary supervisory measures to ensure the safety of pharmaceutical preparations and medical supplies for the Egyptian patient.
