Joseph Schuster, head of the Jewish Central Council in Germany, expressed his shock about the great rise in the proportion of support obtained by the “Alternative for Germany” party in the German parliament elections that took place on Sunday.
In comments to the German newspaper “Welt”, Schuster said: “Although this result was expected based on opinion polls, I still feel shocked this evening of the electoral success of the alternative party, which doubled its share of votes in just three years.”
Schuster added: “It must all worry that five German voters have given their votes to a party that is partial at least a right -wing extremist, and publicly searches for linguistic and ideological bonds with the extreme right and the new Nazism, and manipulates people’s concerns and does not provide them with apparent solutions,” according to the German News Agency D. B.A.
Schuster expected difficulty in forming the new government, and appealed to “all the concerned parties to realize their responsibility for forming a stable government.”
He stressed that what is required of the center stream in the country is to provide “realistic solutions to the urgent problems facing our country.”
The initial estimates of the results of the German elections showed that the Christian Union issued the list of the most powerful parties followed by the Alternative Party, then the Consulting Party, Olaf Schultis, the Socialist Socialist Socialist, came in third place by a large difference.
