The Drug Authority stressed the importance of pregnant women’s commitment to medical advice related to the use of medications during pregnancy, warning against stopping any prescribed medicine without reviewing a specialist.

In a statement, the commission stated that it is necessary to consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking any medications, whether prescribed or unspecified, to treat some of the symptoms that may accompany the pregnancy, while emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition by eating small and light meals frequently, while reducing fats, to The side of drinking sufficient amounts of water.
The commission stressed the importance of informing the doctor or pharmacist of all the drugs that are taken to avoid drug reactions or repeat the treatment, stressing that some “natural” treatments or nutritional supplements may not be safe during pregnancy.
The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority called for any side effects resulting from the medicines through the pharmaceutical vigilance center, in order to ensure the follow -up of cases and take the necessary control measures to protect the health of mothers and the fetus.
Earlier, the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority decided not to agree to complete the procedures for registration of preparations that contain the composition of chlorpheniramine millions with a concentration of 2 mg/ ml with dexamethasone at a concentration of 0.5 mg/ ml, in the form of a drink, based on the recommendations of the specialized scientific committee for general internal diseases.
The Pharmaceutical Authority explained, in a publication, that the decision came based on scientific reasons, including the incompatibility of the concentrations with scientific standards, as it was found that the concentrations provided every 1 ml, while the same concentrations in reference bodies every 5 mm.
