Scientists from the University of Cambridge have created a smart pajamas that evaluates sleep disturbances while their wearer sleeps comfortably at home, as these washable clothes are characterized by a group of pressure sensors made of graphic printed on their collar, and these devices discover the accurate vibrations that are transmitted to the muscles of the external throat, from other anatomical sites including the diaphragm, oral pharynx, tongue and linguist.

According to newsatlas, when it comes to diagnosing sleep problems, the gold standard is a process known as sleeping planning, and this usually requires the patient to sleep throughout the night on a bed in a laboratory, while connected to electrical poles that monitor body functions such as brain activity, eye movements, heart rhythm and muscle activity.
There is no need to say that this is a problem for the patient, which may not sleep as it usually does because of the uncomfortable electrodes and the uncommon situation, in addition, sleep data is collected over one night or a few nights only.
One of the alternatives includes the use of portable sleep control systems that can be used for several nights in the patient’s home, and these systems are usually improved to detect and evaluate breathing during sleep, but they may overlook other disorders.
Therefore, wearable devices such as specialized smart watches or bracelets are another alternative, but they often do not capture a large amount of physiological data like the other two options, and this leads to smart pajamas.
Smart pajamas mechanism
This data is transferred wirelessly to a nearby device like a smartphone, as it is processed by the Sleepnet program based on machine learning.
In turn, the program can determine six healthy, unhealthy and unhealthy sleeping cases, including breathing from the nose, breathing from the mouth, snoring, dental beads, central breathing and obstructive soul during sleep.
When the Sleepnet program was used to process data from the upper part of the pajamas collected from seven healthy volunteers and two people with sleep apnea, it was proven that it was 98.6% in discovering different sleeping cases.
It is important that the system is not affected by the regular movements that it is doing throughout the night, in addition, its collar fits the neck relatively loose, so it is not uncomfortable.
