This came when the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna Al -Rumaihi, participated in the works of the Fifth Forum for Scientific Research hosted by Sharjah University in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, where during her speech she emphasized the great role of the Supreme Council for Women headed Most of the Supreme Council of Women, may God protect her, in consolidating the progress of Bahraini women in various fields, by developing and adopting plans and programs that She contributed to overcoming women in the Kingdom.

The minister said that at the level of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, women assume 64% of the executive administration, noting that the Ministry’s affiliations are playing major roles in the engineering sectors, housing services, strategic planning, institutional excellence, and human resources and financial management..

The Minister highlighted the prominent role of women in the engineering sector, where she pointed to the contribution of 78 Bahraini engineers to the management of housing projects in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Urban Planning Authority.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning pointed to the allocation of special groups for Bahraini women to benefit from the housing services provided by the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and includes women who are incubating divorced women and widows, in addition to the absolute, abandoned or widowed woman and do not have children or singles orphans of parents, and the divorced woman and widow with their children The non -Bahraini palace, along with divorced women, widows, and virtues without children More than 5 thousand citizens benefit from the various housing services provided by the Ministry, while providing a privilege for the advanced woman by requesting to benefit from a housing service, which includes benefiting from the housing allowance allowance from the date of submitting the housing application.

Minister Al -Rumaihi also reviewed the national efforts to enhance the role of women in leadership, noting that the Kingdom registered 68.1% in the Women, Business and Law Index for the year 2024, which is concerned with measuring progress in empowering women at the level of 190 global economies, also reviewing the role of the Labor Fund (Tamkeen) in supporting leaders Women, especially after the launch of the fund recently “Preparing a generation of Bahraini women’s leaders in cooperation with HEC Paris”, which It was launched in February, with the aim of preparing Bahraini women for leadership positions in the private sector, especially in the areas of sustainability and innovation.

The Minister pointed out that the empowerment of Bahraini women was not limited to the government side, but also extended to the private sector institutions, which witnesses the assumption of leadership positions and major roles in the administration, citing a number of models in this field.

The Minister concluded her speech by emphasizing that the Kingdom continues to enhance women’s empowerment through initiatives and supporting policies, stressing that diversity and inclusiveness in leadership sites contribute to enhancing innovation and achieving sustainable development.
