The Minister of Finance and National Economy, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, confirmed that the volume of trade exchange between Bahrain and Egypt amounted to half a billion dollars in 2024, noting that the two countries aspire to raise this number to reach more than one billion dollars during the current year.
The Minister of Finance also stressed that the coming period will witness the increase in the number of direct flights between Bahrain and Egypt, with the aim of facilitating the transportation of passengers and goods and enhancing trade relations. Academic cooperation will also be strengthened between the universities approved in the two countries, as well as joint customs facilities to support investments and enhance economic growth.
This came during the press conference that was held after the second meeting of the Bahraini -Egyptian government committee for commercial, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, where ways to enhance bilateral cooperation were reviewed in several vital areas, including tourism, financial technology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, in addition to investment opportunities and exchange Experiences between the two countries.
The minister pointed out that the meeting stressed the importance of integration in the fields of industry, infrastructure, and sustainable economic development, in a way that contributes to strengthening supply chains and achieving self -sufficiency through the localization of industry, which will create promising job opportunities and support economic diversity.
He pointed to the agreement to hold a forum for Bahraini businessmen and investors in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in order to encourage joint cooperation between business societies between the two countries in order to facilitate the investment movement
