In an era in which global health challenges are increasing, the Kingdom of Bahrain has emerged as one of the countries that have come a long way towards leadership in the field of careful medicine and health innovation. Where the Kingdom of Bahrain succeeded in treating the first patient with sickle cell anemia for the first time outside the United States of America using the technique of cordial cultivation of genetic modification “CRISPR”. This achievement was not only a qualitative shift in national health care, but also a testimony to Bahrain’s commitment to providing the highest standards of health services.
In December 2023, Bahrain adopted the treatment of “Castivi” to treat sickle cell anemia and beta, which made it the first country in the Middle East and the second in the world to use this pioneering treatment. Thanks to this advanced treatment, the Bahrain Oncology Center has succeeded in presenting a new life to the first patient outside the United States. This achievement would not have happened without the directives and support of the wise leadership in the Kingdom, and its keenness to provide the latest medical technology. Where this medical achievement reflects Bahrain’s ambitious vision of being a world leader in the field of careful medicine, and achieving this great goal requires the development of global partnerships and the implementation of effective health strategies, which Bahrain is working on continuously.
My humble opinion
The spontaneous video, which spread to the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister to visit the sickle cell anemia, who completed his treatment stages through the technique of marrow transplantation using the genetic modification “CRISB The best services for its citizens. In my humble opinion, the spontaneous words that our Crown Prince exchanged with the patient Amjad Al -Mahari is a dialogue that represents what the leadership carries for the people, and what the people hold to lead.
After this global achievement, it is certain that the future holds many opportunities for the Kingdom of Bahrain to become a global health destination. Can Bahrain become a global health destination ?? Is it possible to retrieve the reputation that it was known for for years as a beacon of knowledge and health, and that the people of the Gulf were and still believe that the medical services in Bahrain rise to the ranks of global countries and prefer treatment in them ??
I think that after this national achievement, we must strengthen Bahrain’s role as an attractive destination for innovative health care, and to hurry to invest in the innovative health field, which will contribute to strengthening the national economy and strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the international scene.
