The central bank proves interest rates
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt announced that the interest rate on deposit and lending and the price of the main operation of the Central Bank was installed in the first meetings of the Monetary Policy Committee in 2025, for the seventh time in a row.
According to the statement of the Monetary Policy Committee, it was decided to maintain the price of the return and lending for one night and the price of the main operation of the Central Bank at 27.25%, 28.25% and 27.75%, respectively, and the committee also decided to keep the credit and discount price at 27.75%.
The committee explained that this decision comes as a reflection of the latest developments and expectations at the global and local levels, since the previous meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.
