The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna Al -Rumaihi, revealed the allocation of a budget to meet 6 thousand financing requests over the year 2025 through the options of “facilitation” and “advantages” of the created category, in addition to offering projects of the government land development rights program, which provides about 924 units and apartment. Al -Rumaihi confirmed that the number of applications on the waiting list for ownership services decreased to 47,624 housing applications, after the total numbers in 2022 exceeded 55 thousand housing requests, while the number of requests that receive the housing allowance is 33,938 requests, and they are for citizens on waiting lists for more than 5 years.
Al -Rumaihi pointed out that the ministry is directed towards diversifying the available housing options, through the housing financing program, which provides immediate solutions to citizens to obtain appropriate housing, in light of the demand of a large number of citizens listed their requests on the waiting list of ownership services to benefit from the program’s financing, as well as starting Handing over the services of solutions and alternative options to citizens whose seniority dates back to 2004 and before.
This came, during her answer to the question presented by Representative Abdel Wahid Qaraqat about the ministry’s plan to cover the housing requests over the age of five.
The Minister offered the statistics of the housing applications listed on their requests to wait for ownership services, namely: the requests of housing units 44,632 applications, requests for housing vouchers 1,295 applications, and requests for ownership apartments 1,697 applications.
In addition, Al -Rumaihi stated that the number of requests that were canceled that did not meet the standards of housing services during the current legislative separation reached 2705 requests in all governorates, for several reasons, including: the family does not meet the permanent residence condition, the conditions are not applied to form a family, and a family member has a property Residential, and benefit from real estate financing. She explained that the ministry is notifying the applicant for the reasons for the cancellation, and informing him of the possibility of correcting the situation according to the law within a period not exceeding two years from the date of the cancellation.
Al-Rumaihi touched on the paths and programs of the ministry’s work plan and its programs, in implementation of the goals mentioned in the government program 2023-2026, including: the path of the housing financing program, which provides immediate solutions to citizens who wish to obtain housing services without waiting periods, by creating funding financing “and” category advantages The newly created, “the program’s statistics indicate 80% of the beneficiaries of the programs The financing, belongs to citizens who have transferred their housing requests from the conventional services waiting list to the financing service, and obtained their adequate housing for them, knowing that the total number of housing applications that were met through the financing options has exceeded 8000 requests by the end of the year 2024.
She referred to a second path, which is the program of government land development rights in partnership with the private sector, where 4 housing projects will be provided in Salman City in the northern governorate, two projects in the areas His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister regarding the expansion of the program. The Ministry also prepares the necessary procedures to launch a bid for the implementation of projects in the city of Khalifa, in the southern governorate, which provides approximately 3000 units and apartment within the framework of the program, and it is hoped that these projects will contribute to providing housing services.
As for the third track, it is the completion of the implementation of housing cities projects, which include the city of Hadd Haddi, Salman City, Khalifa City, Sitra Housing City, and the program to provide options and alternative solutions for requests in 2004 and provide housing units in the project of developing the city of Muharraq, which is scheduled to witness the first phase of the project Building and restoring approximately 300 housing units, and a number of the people of Muharraq Governorate will benefit from it, while the total number The housing units that the project accommodates in the receiving stage have about 2000 housing units, and the private sector will be involved in providing these units.
