The newspaper “Al -Watan” hosted members and employees of Dar Al -Muharraq to care for parents in a meeting that overflows with gratitude and appreciation, as the editor -in -chief Abdullah Ilhami received them warmly, listening to their tales that beats with the love of Bahrain, and their efforts that contributed to its rise through decades of national action.
Ilhami welcomed the guests of “Al -Watan” the most beautiful, expressing his pride in their pioneering role in society, and appreciating the efforts made by Dar Al -Muharraq for Parents Since its foundation 15 years ago, in conjunction with Bahrain’s launch of the national strategy of the elderly.
He stressed that the newspaper will remain supportive of everything that enhances the care of the senior citizens, in fulfillment of their careful career, and the belief in the importance of being a vibrant part of the path of the renaissance of the homeland. He also pointed out that “the homeland” opens its doors to senior citizens, in appreciation of their role, and in continuation of their giving, stressing that the newspaper welcomes their contributions to enriching readers with their experiences and experiences, which constitute an inherent part of the memory of the country.
For his part, the supervisor of the house, Saud Al -Yassi, reviewed the message on which the Muharraq House is based on the care of the parents, under the slogan “The debt response to the parents”, explaining that since its inception it has provided various aspects of health, psychological and social care for senior citizens, as well as enabling them economically by supporting productive families , To guarantee them the quality of a decent life among their social environment.
He added that during the past year, the house carried out more than 46 health programs, which included: daily exercises, periodic medical examinations, and awareness lectures on proper nutrition for the elderly, as well as social initiatives such as sacrificial distribution, medical and electrical devices, and Ramadan baskets, to reduce the burdens of living.
In the context of empowering the senior citizens, Al -Yassi pointed out that the house is keen to invest their experiences, and provide opportunities for them to work according to their skills, in addition to training them in a number of crafts and handicrafts, where a weekly exhibition is organized to display and sell their products, as well as their participation in exhibitions of productive families that are organized In cooperation with civil and ministerial institutions.
Al -Yassi concluded his speech by announcing the victory of Dar Al -Muharraq for the Care of Parents in the Khaled Al -Issa Al -Saleh Award for Excellence in Charitable Work in the State of Kuwait for the year 2024, which is granted by the Union of Kuwaiti Charitable Societies and Premier League, in honor of its efforts in providing an inspiring humanitarian model for the care of senior citizens.
